Boston United Head into the New Season with High Hopes
The Pilgrims have strengthened with a good mix of experience and younger talent over the summer. Permanent deals for Jake Rooney and Jamie Grimes (both of whom impressed on loan last season), plus Niall Canavan, Gavan Holohan, Ben Hammond, Jack Holmes, Connor McBride, George Ward and Lennon Wheeldon, as well as loans for Luke Faxon and Sai Sachdev from Sheffield United and the return of Ken Aboh from Norwich. Keeping hold of Tom Cursons so far has also been a positive.
An opening-day home defeat to Aldershot was a disappointing start, but with only one game played the focus quickly shifts to the first away trip of the campaign.
The Pilgrims have generally travelled well in recent seasons, so Solihull and the rest of the National League can expect a competitive, well-organised side that will look to get back on track on the road by getting points on the board and continue the progress made last season.
