Boston United defender Matty Carson has signed for Solihull Moors, leaving the Pilgrims after scoring twice in 36 games. Carson joined Boston from Grimsby before the start of the recent campaign and scored twice in 36 games in all competitions. He signed for Reading in the summer of 2023 and played 10 times for the Royals in League One before moving to the Mariners for 2024-25. The Burnley academy graduate becomes Moors boss Chris Millington's first signing for the 2026-27 season. "We have been aware of Matty since his time at Burnley and we've monitored his progress and performances," Millington told the club website. "We feel he's at the perfect stage of his career to come and help us push forward with Moors." Carson's departure from Boston United marks a significant loss for the Pilgrims, who will need to regroup and find a replacement for the experienced defender.
