Boston United's former home at York Street is set to become a £24.9m NHS centre. The community diagnostic centre will offer services including CT scans, MRIs and X-rays.

What happened?

The plans to demolish the former football stadium and build the NHS centre have been approved. Work will see the demolition of the existing structures, including spectator stands and lighting towers.

Why it matters for Boston United

The club played their final match at York Street in 2020 before moving to their current home at the Jakemans Community Stadium. The new NHS centre is expected to open in spring 2027.

What comes next?

Daren Fradgley, deputy chief executive at Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group, said the Boston facility would ease the pressure on hospital sites. The CDC will be run by the same NHS teams as their hospitals, with access to the same digital systems.
