Boston United Strengthens Squad
In a move aimed at bolstering their defense and attack, Boston United has made two significant additions to their squad. The club has secured the loan signing of Jake Rooney from Derby County and brought in striker Tom Cursons on an undisclosed fee from Harrogate Town.
Rooney, a 22-year-old defender who is the cousin of former England international Wayne Rooney, spent four months on loan at Barnsley earlier this season. He returned to Derby County at the start of January but has now been loaned out again, dropping two divisions to join Boston United in their battle to avoid relegation from the National League.
Strategic Additions for Survival
Cursons, 24 and a seasoned goal-scorer, has joined the Pilgrims on a multi-year contract. He made seven goals in 32 appearances after joining Harrogate Town from Ilkeston Town in January 2025. With his experience and goal-scoring ability, Cursons is expected to play an integral role in Boston United's push for survival.
Both Rooney and Cursons are set to make their debuts for the Lincolnshire side at Boreham Wood on Saturday. Their combined talents will be crucial as Boston United faces tough challenges in their fight against relegation.
