Boston United have been drawn against Scunthorpe United in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round. The Pilgrims, ball number four in the northern section, will host their National League North rivals in a high-stakes local derby on the weekend of 17 October.

The draw was conducted live on talkSPORT on Monday by presenters Paul Hawksbee and Andy Jacobs, with Ben Fletcher hosting. "The draw will be broadcast live on talkSPORT at approximately 2 pm today, Monday 5 October," Hawksbee said. The winner of the tie will progress to the first round proper in November, where League One and Two clubs enter the competition.

For Boston, currently 20th in the National League with 12 points from 12 games, the cup offers a welcome distraction from league struggles. Their recent form has been poor, with the team conceding an average of 2.5 goals per game over their last six matches. They head into the tie off the back of a 6-0 defeat to Yeovil Town last time out. Their immediate focus, however, is a tough league fixture against third-placed Southend United at home this Saturday, 10 October.

The northern section of the draw features 32 clubs, including several familiar National League names like AFC Fylde, Gateshead, and Hartlepool United. The southern section, also of 32 teams, includes ninth-tier sides SE Dons and Tadley Calleva, who face daunting trips to Sholing and Aldershot Town respectively. The full squad list for the cup tie will be available on our squad page in the coming days.
